This section is of full of resources to help you navigate the world of sustainability. There are downloads and links to resources covering a wide variety of subject matter. Scroll down and you'll find the Resources section with topics in alphabetical order.

 

Nourishment

Cottage Small Coffee Roasters - organic, fair trade coffees. They typically have a table at the Webb City Farmers Market.

Fox Farm Whole Food - a cornucopia of health foods, Asian produce, ethnic fare, and gifts

Madewell Meats - Pork raised with NO: nitrates, nitrates, GMOs, or MSG. They switch off between the Webb City Farmers Market and the Greater Springfield Farmers Market.

Marlee's Creamery - delicious raw milk available at the farm, at Wholistic Pathways in Carthage, and usually at the Webb City Farmers Market

Millsap Produce - groceries, bulk foods, locally raised meats and produce. You can special order organic produce and local meats to pick up every 2-3 weeks. 

Mohaska Farmhouse - wonderful restaurant using locally-raised meats and organic produce when available

Oak Street Natural Market (Carthage) - smoothies, housemade hummus, natural foods, and much more

Oakwoods Farm - market garden and livestock raised organically with a commitment to sustainability and good stewardship

Rocky Horse Farm - produce grown without chemicals. Opening a roadside stand this spring.

Sunny Lane Farm - free range meats, lovingly raised. You'll find Nancy at the Webb City Farmers Market most Saturdays from 9-noon.

Suzanne's Natural Foods - beautiful food store with attentive staff. You can eat healthy lunches (soup, salad bar, sandwiches) from M-F from 11-2

Webb City Farmers Market - fresh and local foods available year-round in the pavilion at King Jack Park in Webb City. Winter hours are 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

National Renewable Energy Lab 


The National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), located in Golden Colorado, provided invaluable technical assistance and recommendations to city leaders and businesses during the first three years after the tornado. They performed various energy studies and developed educational materials related to sustainable disaster recovery. They also created great educational materials on many of the new projects constructed in Greensburg, which are available to download below.

  •   North American Association for Environmental Education - A network of people who believe in teaching people how to think about the environment, not what to think.
